"He appeared right in front of me, and he wasn't a demon... but what looked like a human. As if he'd been yanked from before into the present unchanged. I gazed at him and for a second... I forgot to kill him."

Shootin' the Breeze / Re: Anyone here practice any martial arts?

15 year veteran wrestler here. It's not a martial arts per say but it does help.  :carcus:

I've wrestled around with a few BJJ guy's and I hate those arm bars! Then again that was when I was really young and not as experienced. Not very good at doing submission moves nor have I ever had the chance to do any ground and pound. Oh well though... maybe one of these days!  :ganishka:

Ha, submissions are fun in pure grappling, in a real fight though I think accumulated damage due to strikes is much more effective before going for a sub. Wrestling complemented with BJJ is a nasty mix, they were meant to be crosstrained together. The top control, base, conditioning in wrestling is such a steal though, great sport.

Sorry about that guys, I've seen it spelled with the z before and assumed that was the proper way to spell the title of the manga.

Friend told me its the greatest story he's ever read, and makes all of the greek tragedies look amateur in comparison. Since I got into it, I have to agree.

I've read alot of works, philosophic, cyberpunk, medieval, contemporary, but Berserk is easily the greatest story ever written in my humble opinion, and the zenith of existential literature.

I always like to think of the night that Guts and company got to spend at Flora's manor prior to it's destruction.  They got to eat/sleep/clean-up well and not have to worry about being attacked for once.  They also learned that with proper warding, they wouldn't be plagued continually by dark forces drawn to the brands.  That entire scene just made me feel so ridiculously good...  Probably for the first time in the series.

I agree, that part made me feel so warm and tingly inside, poor guys finally get a break in a nice place, safe from everything.

Oh and im guys! im new to the site, but I love Berserk!
