Shootin' the Breeze / Want a Gmail invite?
« on: August 31, 2004, 01:35:05 PM »
[For the record Walter, this color scheme is so grossified I should murder you.]

Anyway, I have several Gmail invites that are burning a hole in my proverbial pocket.  Since I know so many people who already have them, I figured I'd give one away here - but at a catch.  I'm wanting a new, killer background for my computer at home, and I was interested in making it Berserk-related.

So, it's a contest of sorts - whoever makes me the best background, gets a Gmail invite.  (Walter is disqualified since I just sent him one, but he is encouraged to make really awful MSPaint Berserk backgrounds to contrast the good and awful)

For this thread, shrink down your final product to something more managable, like 640x480 or so.  But the size I specifically want for the background file should be 1600x1200, in PNG format for lossless compression.

Have fun, if any of you decide to go for it. :)

Berserk Miscellaneous / Just for fun

I was taking a reading break and felt, hell, why not make Guts' Dragon Slayer in Lightwave?  So I did, even added a little logo for kicks.  Tell me what you think of it.  It was done in roughly 45 minutes from scratch, including texturing.

(Yes, I know the chain on the sword is rectangular.  Sue me, I was doing it from memory. :) )

Long time no see, na?  ;D
I saw this Friday night and walked away with some serious adrenaline and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.  Definitely not what I expected in many ways.  Thoughts?  Flames?  Oysters?

Character Cove / Locus?
« on: October 02, 2001, 09:40:19 AM »
I think Walter has already formatted and taken his break from things, but I was pondering what 'rokusu' would be in English, and I was thinking of Robin Hood.  Robin of Locksley.  I've also seen the name spelled Locke(s) like FF VI.  I mean, his name can't mean a 'locust'  :P, so what do you guys think?  I'm thinking I'll update the FAQ with that little tidbit.

Also, I don't know if this has been revealed offhand, but is the big guy's name actually 'Naga' or are they just calling him that based on the fact that he's huge as hell?  ;D

Shootin' the Breeze / Translation Poll
« on: October 04, 2001, 10:21:59 PM »
Since it seems that Yong is plagiarizing the translation work we do here without crediting us (which if he did, would be fine), I have a little question for you all...and I'd do it in a cool poll thing but that feature isn't installed on the bbs :)

How should I go about distributing translations?

A) On Walter's "Translations" section, just like before
B) A private mailing list (that goes through me)
C) Instant Messenger on this board

I guess it just peeves me that both Olivier and I aren't credited for the work we put into this stuff.  And I think I did most of the work, and Olivier corrects the hell out of it :)  Anyway, input from you guys would be appreciated.

I'm not one to post such an odd link here, but this is an exception...tell me if you can figure out WTF it is.

Now, if one of you would buy this for me, expect all of Berserk fully translated by the end of the week.  Thank you.
