Video Games / Call of Duty World at War
« on: November 25, 2008, 02:02:38 PM »
As anyone played this yet?

I have already beaten it (i'm such a nerd) and it's awesome.
The soundtrack is incredible, and the fast paced action sucks you into the game.
Great work by Activision.

There's also a surprise for those who finish the game NAZI ZOMBIESSS! Yeah, reminded me of that zombie flick "Night of the Living Dead"

News & Not News / BOPE and Slums in Brazil
« on: August 13, 2008, 01:19:38 AM »

I think this vid is self-explanatory;
The situation in Brazil's slums are out of control (for some time by now) and the authorities created the BOPE (Brigade of Police Spec Ops) that basically kills anyone that has a gun or that is running. Its pretty hardcore but... It is almost impossible to deal with this problem, there is so much drug traffic and weapons available that even if the BOPE kills fifty criminals they'll be replaced on the next day. I mean there are waiting lists to join the dealers groups.

I think there are some Brazilian users in the SKnet community, they could explain better.

What's your opinion on the subject?
I already know it ain't ethical.

News & Not News / UK girl search 'coming to an end'
« on: May 11, 2007, 11:46:05 AM »
"The search for Madeleine in the area around Praia da Luz, which has included 150 police and many volunteers, is "coming to an end," Sousa said. But the investigation will continue."

This story makes me sad for two reasons:

1st - The girl's parents were eating dinner in a nearby restaurant and left their 3 kids in the house alone.
The mother says that during dinner she would go check on the kids every 30m, that has been proven to be
a lie since the waiters at the restaurant say that the woman never left the table.

2nd - If it was the son of "Average Joe" the search would be over already, and it would have started 72 hours later. Yeah i've seen it happen before..

Obviously the poor kid doesnt have any blame in this, but i think we were supposed to be all equal..

Movies, TV, Books & Music / Frank Miller's 300
« on: August 28, 2006, 10:13:55 AM »
"Frank Miller's adventure series 300 is a riveting story of one of the most under-reported and glorious battles of the Persian-Greco war. While Miller has taken substantial creative liberties in reporting the details of his version of the Spartan King Leonidas and his army of 300 valiant soldiers, the events he describes are remarkably accurate."

Im just crazy about ancient battles and i've gotta get my hands on this!
It's about one of the greatest battles of all-time, Thermopylae.. Do a research on Wikipidea if you want to know more about this battle, were 300 spartans tried to stop 2 million persian soldiers..

Encyclopedia: Q&A / Berserk in color
« on: May 30, 2006, 05:51:58 PM »
I just wondered if the Photoshop masters that we have here in would like to undertake the greatest of projects! Coloring Berserk since vol.1  :isidro:
I know that this sounds crazy but it would make all berserk fans cry with joy, i have no skill with photoshop but i know that it as to be very hard to colour all those beautifull panels.. Is this an impossible task?

Speculation Nation / Griffith and Alexander the Great
« on: October 27, 2005, 08:42:46 AM »
Some days ago i read somethings about Alexander the Great.
And after it, it seemed like Griffith's and Alexander's story were similiar.

1- Brilliant and young tactician
2- His men loved him and would follow him anywhere
3- He died after his love died of tifu's (dont know if i wrote it right..)

So let us see..
Griffith was brilliant, decided the 100 year war, his men loved him.
And Guts.. lol
If we think about it, when Guts left the Hawks it was like he had "died" for Griffith, he didnt own Guts anymore. So he made a mistake that costed him is dream (trying to hump Charlotte).
When Hephastion died Alexander was heart-broken like Griffith and died (fever).

Appart the Beherit thing, they have some similiar things in their stories..

What do you guys think?

Speculation Nation / Berserk story is a cycle...
« on: September 09, 2005, 10:28:18 PM »
I am foreshadowing on this one... But i think this makes a lot of sense and is probably the best ending to berserk you'll ever read.. i guess.. lol..

Griffith will be king of all land... But Guts will kill him because Griffith betrayed him.. Guts kills Griffith imprisioning him in the "demon dimension"..
Guts becomes King... 4 angels appear to punish the King...

_____________ Reminds you of something? _____________________

In the fight Guts is completly possed by the berserker's armor.. Till' SK appears and with the help of Schierke bring Guts back... Guts learns how to use the Berserker armor remaining sane..
Sk and Guts take down the 4 angels.. GH dies... SK's spirit finally rests.. Casca and Guts leave to Godo's house to live peacefully..

It makes sense?  :miura:
