Movies, TV, Books & Music / My little side project
« on: February 12, 2017, 01:28:22 AM »
So, I like music a lot and having a regular boring job and some free time I got to put out some songs with my keyboard. I wanted to share them here. The vocals are in french and well it's much not for everyone but if you like metal or harsh music you should be fine I guess.

Feel free to comment.

I hope you enjoy them and don't forget it's just a demo and I'm not a real musician as in I never got classes...

What's your little side project?

Berserk Merchandise / I need help with Italian berserk volumes
« on: June 11, 2016, 02:20:42 PM »

my sister is going to Milan, Italy and I want her to buy me some Italian berserk volumes for my multi-language collection of the series. Can anyone give me a good comic/manga store in this area? (I'd say around the downtown Milan)

Thx if you can!

Video Games / Pokemon Sun/Moon
« on: February 26, 2016, 04:29:25 PM »
So there's a new Pokemon game that's just been announced. Pokemon Sun/Moon. It's gonna be out at the end of the year, for the Holiday.

Now I am not a huge fan of Pokemon and only started playing last year with X version (and I have the game boy Red version too).

I'm kinda excited about that since I'm starting to like that game.

Thought I'd shared this here.

Manga Mausoleum / Guess the Vol 38 cover game
« on: September 18, 2015, 12:57:55 PM »
So with the return of a monthly release of our favorite series aka Berserk, the completion of volume 38 is almost (almost) around the corner. With what we know already of the content, who will guess what the new cover for the volume will be?

We are gonna have a volume mostly happening in Falconia, so I'm taking a chance to say that it's gonna have something based on that. I would really like to have a cover la volume 23. A nice little composition of elements from Falconia with Rickert and Erika on it maybe? They deserve imo to have a cover. I would not mind to see Rakshas on it also. (Unless we see the elf island by the end of the volume, that might be the cover, but my money is on my first guess)

So what do you guys and gals think about that! Guess the cover, let's play!

Manga Mausoleum / Question about some apostles and the Eclipse
« on: July 11, 2013, 07:41:42 PM »
Hmm just a small question that got my attention while I was rereading the volumes: The apostles that died in the eclipse, are they really really dead or for some reason since they were in the eclipse they got "healed"?

What I have in mind as an example are the ones that got half squeeze by Femto when he tried to well squeeze Skullknight...

I have always wondered about that part. I think in my opinion that they are dead dead but since it's a special occasion I thought maybe they are given a kind of second chance...

P.S. Sorry if that was already brought up but I did not find anything on the subject in the search. Feel free to delete and/or fuse it when a more related thread

Movies, TV, Books & Music / jackson_hurley's Black Metal Thread
« on: June 14, 2013, 01:25:07 AM »
Okay, hi, Jackson Hurley here,

I wanted to start this thread because I really like music and I like to share what I discover and to discover what other people have to share. Now black metal is probably one of the only metal genre i am listening to so please if this isn't about black metal refer yourself to the metal thread (yeah I know there is one).

I am mostly gonna here about metal noir Quebecois (black metal form Quebec province) mostly because I live here but that doesn't mean the discussion is gonna stop there. Share your black metal bands from you contry or area if you know some... I'm really interested in what other regions have to offer in that genre..

Now I know there might be debates as if that band is black metal or not I don,t care! I like debates!

First band I'll name is Forteresse. A patriotic "metal noir Quebecois" band
I'll let you search it on youtube it'll be easier that way.
All right I'll help a bit enjoy

Now share and discuss! It'll be fun!

Speculation Nation / Dragon Slayer breaking
« on: April 02, 2013, 03:29:48 AM »
So, now that Rickert and Erica (with a c or k i can't remember) are in Falconia and that Guts is far away, do you guys think that the Dragon Slayer will break at some point until the end of the series and what will our little owner will do about it? Or might be it'll get it "refine" somehow in Elfhelm... Any thoughts on this?

Ps: I got bored while waiting for the new episode, gotta pass the time! soon! :)

Movies, TV, Books & Music / Godspeed You! Black Emperor reunion tour
« on: November 17, 2010, 04:08:01 AM »
So for those who don't know them :

I consider this what we could call epic band as one of my favorite since a few years now.

They are doing a reunion tour this winter in Europe (sorry i don't have the specific dates) and was glad to finally get the dates for Montreal (because they are from here actually so it was fair to say they were gonna play some dates here after all). Next week I will get my tickets!

So, anybody has heard about them? European friends? American? Japanese? I know they were known  around your parts of the world!

Anyway I just wanted to share their music with you guys and gals!

Have fun

Shootin' the Breeze / What do you do for a living
« on: May 29, 2009, 12:43:32 AM »
Well the thread is easy. I'm always curious to know what kind of people read berserk. So I've decided to ask to things:

post your age (if you want of course) and what you do for a living.

I'm 26 and I'm a clerk/receptionist in a rehab center.

Care to share my curiosity?

ps: I posted that cause I'm bored.  :carcus: and also because I wanted to know a little more about you fellow members. because after all we all are behind a screen.

Berserk Miscellaneous / Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service
« on: February 05, 2009, 01:54:08 AM »
I was wondering if anyone was picking that manga which dark horse is releasing? It's written by Eiji Otsuka (mpd-psycho) and art by Housui Yamazaki (mail - also on dark horse). Anyway I thought about asking because I've just read volume 7 and 8 yesterday and in volume 7 there is a clear reference to Berserk where in one of the episodes (they call it delivery) we see this robot with a corpse inside it that goes crazy and finds in a comic book store a sword on a display (the dragon slayer to be precise) and start using it to try and kill everyone in the mall and on the other page there is a random guy who says to his friend:" hey check it out, man. kinda like Guts you know?" Anyway I just wanted to share this little slice of life I had haha. Since I thought it was cool of the authors to make a reference of our favorite manga.

oh and yeah the story of that manga involve 5 students who studied in a Buddhist college and turn out to deliver corpse they find, which their souls are still trapped inside them and can't move on to the next reincarnation, anywhere they want. (for those interested)

Speculation Nation / God Hand's sacrifice
« on: October 30, 2008, 04:25:30 AM »
I just started to read the "surviving sacrifice" thread and I got an idea.

Do you think that each God Hand member's sacrifice involved somehow a lot of people as in:

We have so far a speculation involving the inhabitants of a city probably resulting in the birth of one of the first God Hand.

Then we have Griffith sacrificing the Band of the Falcon.

Next is the 1000 ceremony (can't remember the name) resulting also in a lot of people dying (I know it's not a new God Hand ceremony but it's a ceremony involving a member of the God Hand) or should I count that one out?

Since the few apostle's sacrifice we've seen so far did not involved more then 2 or 3 person it could be possible...

So in the end do you think that everytime a member of the God Hand does a sacrifice (I mean for their own transformation into a God Hand member) it has involved a lot of people.

Any thoughts?

I'm just curious to know, I think it could be an interesting fact.

Movies, TV, Books & Music / Criminal Macabre
« on: March 04, 2008, 01:29:13 AM »
Hey guys, I know some of you are buying the Dark Horse edition of Berserk. So I guess some of you might be interested in other Dark Horse stuff.

I just finished this book that was published by Dark Horse:

Criminal Macabre The Complete Cal McDonald Stories

I myself am a big fan of the comics and I really enjoyed this book by Steve Niles featuring the first stories of criminal macabre before he continued them in comics format. I suggest it to anyone who likes the series or to whoever read horror books. The book is kinda fast to read considering it's composed of short stories! anyway I just wanted to share this! Let me know if anyone reads and your thought about it if you want! :guts:

Berserk Merchandise / How can I clean my statue?
« on: January 03, 2008, 10:22:02 PM »
So what is the best way to clean my statue? I have the Guts in berserker armour statue and it's really due for a good cleaning but i never cleaned these kind of statues before considering it's my only one from berserk. How should I do it? I don't want to break it doing so. Any good way to do it? I know someone here must have done it considering you are all big fans of these beauties!

(EVERYONE)(and I'm talking all the major characters of this board, (you know who you are)) So keep up the good work like they say (and thx for reading this cheesy post, I just felt like telling it)

Movies, TV, Books & Music / The Tripper by David Arquette
« on: July 12, 2007, 03:44:29 AM »
anybody heard about it/seen it?! anyway i just got back from the theater to see it (fantasia again)
it was good! not the best slasher movie I've seen but still is a good laugh! David Arquette is one f*** up dude! haha he was presenting the movie! it's going out in dvd on October 31 for the interested..

Here's a quick description of the movie. i also updated my fantasia post with a link and quick description

The Tripper Genre-loving actor David Arquette makes his directorial debut with a subversive splatter comedy! An axe-wielding Ronald Reagan lookalike decides to deliver the ultimate presidential veto to a group of drug-taking modern hippies on the way to a rock concert in California’s spookily primeval redwood forests. And what a trip it is! Director and actor David Arquette will be here for the Canadian premiere.

Movies, TV, Books & Music / Fantasia Film Festival
« on: July 06, 2007, 02:56:27 PM »
Allright Fantasia Festival for those who don't have a clue about what it's about, is a festival about horror movies/ sci-fi/ fantasy and others (any kind of movie to be honest) most of the movies are foreign movies and some of them are presented by the directors.
it runs in montréal between July 5th and July 23th.

here's the link for the website (which i think is a beautiful website this year)

Anybody going to see at least one movie there?! I'm kinda freak about it so 23 movies for me this year! :isidro:

Edit: july 12th

Speculation Nation / Will the prophecy realize itself?
« on: September 21, 2006, 08:00:18 PM »
"When the Sun has died five times, a red lake will appear at the West of the city with a name both new and ancient, and it will be the sign that the fifth angel, the Falcon of Darkness, is born. The Angel shall be both master of the sinful black sheep and king of the blind white ones. He is the one who shall bring an age of darkness upon the world."

this is the prophecy as we know it. now, knowing the present situation in the story so far, do you think that Griffith will fulfill the prophecy and bring an age of darkness to the world or do you think that guts will actually prevent that by fullfilling is revenge before?

i'd go with the first option since guts is trying to cure casca. the thing is we dont know how long it can take before the "age of darkness" is brought upon the world! any thoughts?
