Berserk Miscellaneous / Miura lost to Idolmaster?
« on: March 29, 2009, 04:16:21 AM »
Forgive me and delete if already posted.

The Madness of Kentarou Miura

Berserk mangaka Kentarou Miura has given up manga in order to become a full-time Nico-maniac, with his days spent watching Idolmaster MADs and typing in insightful strings of “www”.

Lately he has even taken to interfering with the work of uninfected mangaka, attempting to turn them by way of classes held at his home.

His long-time friend and fellow mangaka Kouji Mori (who recently completed his long-running “Holy Land” manga and so is especially vulnerable) reports being subjected to just such an attempt, a two hour course on the secrets of NicoNico Idolmaster videos.

Fans are exasperatedly asking that Miura return to completing his magnum opus, though his symptoms do not appear to be in remission…

For anyone who remembers my old thread about the previous ds, there's a new model by a different company this time, I found it when doing a search for guts.

Creation Station / BD's Newb Colors
« on: April 14, 2008, 02:11:01 AM »
Ok guys,  so I got photoshop 2 days ago, and have been messing around with coloring panels from Grappler Baki, seeing as how that has very few colorists and I was interested in doing them. Was pretty much following CnC's tutorials to the letter. As always critiques are welcome, and the more detailed critics the better, so I'll put what I consider the best(relative to other crap I did) of my colors so far.

Berserk Merchandise / True Swords Dragonlayer Replica
« on: June 07, 2007, 06:57:34 PM »
Please forgive me guys if this has been posted already, I did search beforehand. I'm at a public library(computer went kaput) and I was just on trueswords.com and found out they have recently released a dragonslayer replica. It looks pretty neat, but obviously, as the description points out, this is not a combat sword. Here's a link to the product.

"MPAA sues multimillionaire that is ready to fight the charge
Posted by Dan Bell on 26 July 2006 - 02:45 - Source: Wired

johnzap used our news submit to tell us: "Finally! Someone, with the means ($$$) to do it, is going to fight the MPAA and its tactics, in court. Looks like this is a case to follow: case number 06CV0545, Universal vs. Hogan filed in US District Court (California Southern District, Ninth Circuit)." Last November, Shawn Hogan received an unsettling call: A lawyer representing Universal Pictures and the Motion Picture Association of America informed the 30-year-old software developer that they were suing him for downloading Meet the Fockers over BitTorrent. Hogan was baffled. Not only does he deny the accusation, he says he already owned the film on DVD. The attorney said they would settle for $2,500. Hogan declined. Now he’s embroiled in a surprisingly rare situation – a drawn-out legal fight with the MPAA.

As Jonzap mentions, Hogan is definately a man of means, as former CEO of Digital Point Solutions, he just happens to be a multimillionaire. The $100,000 that he expects to pay in legal fees, to fight this charge from the MPAA, is worth every cent in his eyes. Mr. Hogan, like many others, realizes that the tactics used by these "artists associations" are an abuse of he legal system and he is going to do his best to fight it. Hogan says. “I would spend well into the millions on this.”

In retort, the MPAA had this to say: “We look forward to addressing his issues in a court of law.” Head on over to Wired for the full report. It certainly will be interesting to keep an eye on this case. Possibly, we are all looking forward to it more than the MPAA!
"

So someone who actually has the means to will be fighting the bully tactics used by these corporations, too bad it's not the RIAA though. Should be interesting to see.  :troll:
