Encyclopedia: Q&A / Has Willow influenced Miura?
« on: May 05, 2007, 09:40:54 AM »
I've read many topics on regarding Miura's influence. Guin Saga, Flesh and Bone, and a possible Hellraiser has been mentioned. But has anyone seen the movie Willow? This movie has some striking similarities to Berserk. I'm not mentioning this movie just because it has knights, wizards, fairies, and trolls. The character Madmartigan reminds me a lot of Serpico, not in looks, but personality. The character Sorsha reminds me of Farnese. You will have to watch the movie to understand the Sorsha and Farnese similarities. A baby with special powers (the moonlight child/demon child). And finally, the character General Kael is so damn close to the Skullknight and Gaiseric. General Kael wears a skeleton mask, and even carries a sword with thorns wrapped around the handle of the sword!  :isidro: That is way too close to be called a coincidence. Anyway, tell me what you guys and gals think. And also, check out the movie Willow, it's a kick ass movie.

Speculation Nation / The Idea of Good?
« on: March 01, 2007, 01:06:44 PM »
My wife got me thinking about this question after she read the lost EPISODE "God of the Abyss" in Berserk volume 13. From my understanding (and my wife's), the Idea of Evil was created by the evil ideas of the people. I know the world of Berserk is dark and just spewing to the brim with evil. But... not everyone in Berserk is evil or has evil ideas (Puck, Schierke, and at times Guts  :guts:  :chomp:). So could there just possibly be an Idea of Good? And what if this Idea of Good has apostles? For example, Skullknight?  :SK: For evil to exist, mustn't good exist as well? I (and my wife) may be jumping off the deep end here, but tell me what you guys and gals think.

Character Cove / Least Favorite Berserk Character
« on: February 14, 2007, 11:26:06 AM »
Hey folks! This is my first time on here, so I hope I posted this question in the right section  :serpico:. Like many great stories, there are certain characters who really are annoying or just simply hated. For example, the not so loveable Jar Jar Binks, who played in Star Wars  :puck:. So I will ask you all, who is your least favorite character in Berserk? My least favorite character would have to be Griffith  :chomp:. He is a backstabbing traitor, who seems (so far in the story) to be getting away with murder. I hope Guts buries his sword in Griffith's chest someday. Anyway... reply back folks.
