Speculation Nation / A different beginning(?)
« on: March 23, 2018, 12:27:32 PM »
Hi to everyone,

i was asking myself if it would have been better for Berserk to start directly from The Golden Age, skipping the black swordsman's first three numbers.

Let me explain.

Without those initial episode we would have never know who Griffith was, instead when it is presented to us in his Human form as a teenager we arleady know hežs gonna mess things up.

Doesn't this spoiler us the GINORMOUS  plotwist that the eclipse is?

IMHO Miura should have placed the black swordsman arc between the golden age and the Lost children arc, following the streaming of facts instead of starting the narration in MEDIAS RES

Waiting for your opinions

Speculation Nation / Can the Dragon Slayer be broken?
« on: August 19, 2016, 11:28:55 AM »
Hello to everyone!  :ubik: :ubik: :ubik:

as title suggests, do you think someone will ever be able to break the dragon slayer?

It is not explicit but i think that transformed Mozgus could be able to break it with the double-wing-smash (from Guts' reaction), i think also grunbeld has the potential to do it.

However, DS suffers time as it has been repaired after two years of slaughtering but now Godot is dead, do you think the wizards in Skellig will repair it or they are just able to emprove its "shadow" (the power to hit astral beings) as they are not blacksmith but just mages?

So, do you think/fear someone will ever be able to break it? How will Guts manages it? Please note that enemies are escalating while the Dragonslayer remains a piece of raw iron, tempered, mystical and huge, but still a piece of iron.

Waiting for your opinions, i apologize for my english but i am ignorant and typing from a smartphone  :judo:

Manga Mausoleum / Re: Some questions about Apostles
« on: March 24, 2016, 08:10:31 AM »

You are indeed absolutely wrong. They've been apostles since long before their introduction in the series.

Weird, i thought that they were still humans (Locus says he's just arrived by following the oracle), is there any passage where can we understand they are already apostles?

I have trouble understanding how one could even be confused about such a thing.

Howewer, your tolerance is so great, thank you very much!!!! <3

I think you're not remembering things correctly. Locus is the most human looking one. All the others have demonic or otherworldly features, even in their most basic forms.

It seems to me that Locus, grunbeld and irvine looked like now even when they kneeled to griffith (and i'm pretty sure they were still human) and that Grunbeld's size and Irvine's white eyes are just their human features, am i wrong?

No, that's not right. Things aren't classified like that. There's no "freak form". Some apostles just look more monstrous than others, even in their human forms. Some apostles are also plain uglier than others, whether they're transformed or not. And strength, skills and even their supernatural abilities (regeneration, various weird powers...) can wildly vary between individuals. Apostles just don't follow that specific a template. They come in different shapes or forms.

Thank you for all the answer, just for the last i have a doubt.  Some Apostles return to their pre-ceremony form after death (for example wyald) but this is different from their human form, as if they decided to have a whole new body, transformed or not.
Most of them look human before and after becoming apostles (all Griffith leutenant look the same, but not zodd). So my question is: do you think apostles are offered the chance to change both their shapes, transformed and not?

Hi guys! I'm at the fifth reading of Berserk (just can't find anything so good) and i have a few questions and theories about Apostles and apostle form to all the skillful veterans who write here.

: what is Ganishka's Apostle form? Is it the Mist one? because it just doesn't look like an apostle (you know: eyes, fangs, tentacles, scales.....) but like an astral manifestation that is more tipical of a Wizard, like the fire appearence of Flora.

:When Rochine is in his "MegaMoth" form she can reach supersonic speed. Is it because of the reactors she has on the back? I can't understand if she is something like a jet or can fly just because of her wings.

:Do we know something about horses? Because they're awesome!! I don't mean just the Skull Horse (who is the true hero IMHO  :badbone:). Also all the Demonic lancers and Zodd have wonderful horses, and some of them can join with them in apostle form but they look quite normal, aren't they?

:Can we consider Dakas apostles since they are Fetus corrupted by the artificial beherit?

: As far as i can understand there are three apostle forms:

The human one, which only a few apostles seems to have (locus, grunbeld, the count, the two insect knights and the baron snake)

The "freak form" : is non-transformed like human form but they just look freaky and not human: almost all apostles are like that (I don't think zodd's human form is that). For Wyald this should be his middle form.

The transformed form: no explanation needed

is it a right theory? Why some apostles can return to their human form and some can't?

Maybe everything is wrong or obvious but i wait for all your answers!!  :guts: :guts: :guts:

Manga Mausoleum / Re: Newcomer's Thoughts on Berserk as a Series

@Aazealh: what i was trying to say is that is funny that lot of people don't appreciate the new way the story has taken when i see so many similitudes between this arc and the so much appreciated Golden Age arc and that stuff just escalated tremendously after both the eclipse and the reincarnation of femto. Then, if my language may look hasty but i'm typing from mobile phone and during lessons and my english is not so good so, sorry

Hi Apollyon necron, nice post! In fact i've noticed that Berserk's fans are divided between those who stopped lobing it after the rebirth of Griffith and those who don't.

Personally i think that the Falconia's saga is simply a repetition of the Golden Age saga, Griffith Himself stated it on the hills of the swords ("nothing has changed"). The difference is that now he's Femto and fights alongside with apostles!! There are also several similitudes between the old Band of the Hawk members and the new ones:

Zodd and Guts: simply, the best warrior and the one who is closest to Griffith
Grunbeld and Pipin: the Giant one
Irvine and Judo: the one skilled at distance
Locus and Rickert: the one with a noble spirit
Rakshas and Carcus. the despicable one
Sonia and Casca: the girl who's in love with Griffith and sees him as a saviour (well, more than others) but knows that he's in love with princess charlotte, and accept it (Casca wanted to be Griffith's sword and Sonia told that boring tale about owls and falcons)

That makes things terribily darker!! I think that this is just a terribily long version of the "soft volumes" of the golden age (which i think is everything except the eclypse) but stuff are tremendously more serious this time and , with the exception of Guts, no one would survive such a shitty world without magic XD

I simply don't understand people who love the Golden Ag and don't see the similitude now: all the "feelings" stuff was already before in the golden age, for the increasing "Stupid japanese humor" stuff i totally agree: THAT it's unbearable XD XD

Speculation Nation / Couldn't Guts be part of the God's Hand Plan?
« on: January 29, 2016, 07:16:49 PM »
As mentioned in the title: couldn't Gits somehow be part of the intricate plan o the Idea of Evil?
I mean, from the God's hand members we heard a lot about Guts struggling against destiny ("the fish" metaphore, Slan's interest for Guts), but i was shocked when in Vritannis Guts had his life spare twice (by Zodd and by griffith when they're reaching the sea horse).

Is not over: still in Vritannis Schierke meet Sonja and, after Schierke refuses to join the new band of Hawk, Sonja doesn't tell anyone about the witch she met, and she is the pupil of Flora, one of the most powerful witch (griffith esteemed her more dangerous than ana rmy).

I mean: i know that Guts and his party are very little things compared to a battle between apostles or the World's collapse, but Griffith, Zodd and Grunbeld are personally aware of the danger that the group represents (specially griffith, who knows he still has emotions thanks to the demon child).
So couldn't be that Guts' path to damnation in order to destroy griffith is part of the big plan for the age of darkness?

What do you think? (Sorry for my english)

Manga Mausoleum / Re: Little Things You Love About Berserk
« on: January 24, 2016, 07:15:28 PM »
Hi guys, that's my first post on the forum (i hope not the last too!) XD

However what i really really love of berserk, or better, of Guts it's how Miura totally managed to mix the japanese archetype of the samurai/ronin (the cult of the weapon, swordmanship as the only way to live and to fight against destiny....) with the european middle age-renaissance: all placed in a dark Giger-Lovecraft-Howard Universe!!! Totally awesome
