Creation Station / Re: The Girls of 2009 Calendar
« on: January 06, 2009, 05:24:34 AM »
Wow, the calendar turned out really well!  Kudos to everyone who helped put it all together!

Just based on that sig, I was kind of expecting to see Walter's famous picture pop up in there somewhere.  Next year I guess...

Wow, sorry I didn't stop by sooner to see this.  Special thanks to Lithrael for bringing it to my attention.

I read through the thread, but I'm not exactly clear on some things:

(1) What months are free at this point?

(2) What's the deadline?

I'm not making any guarantees here, but I can try and get a few pics together if you still need people.  :guts:

I'm just curious... And she seems really secretive, so she must be a hottie!  :casca:

Miura is pretty secretive as well, so they match in that respect.  I've been following Berserk for about 6 or 7 years now and I've only seen maybe 3 photos of Miura (and even those few seemed pretty hard to find).

I'm glad to hear the break is over.  Just my luck to start following the series closely again during the longest break in Berserk history.  :schierke:

I'm still hanging around.  I kind of got out of the habit of following Berserk, but I'm getting back into it.  No idea why I decided to make my return in this thread, but here I am I guess.

So the decision's up to Walter huh?  Oh the suspense...

Rakshas emoticon of course , and you can change my avatar if you want.

Speaking as a Rakshas fan, I have to support this option.  I don't know what the hell you would use it to represent, but it's just so cool.

Aazealh's avatar?  I leave that up to you.  :guts:

I'll comment a little more later on, but I'm surprised that nobody remarked on what appears to be a giant hole that can be seen on Guts' abdomen under his shirt. The wound from the Makara? Seems too low compared to where the armor was pierced, but it doesn't look like a simple shadow either.

It looks more like a wrinkle in the cloth of his shirt.  I don't see anything that makes it look like a hole/wound.  It just looks like that's how the shirt is wrinkles when he wears it, the thing isn't skin tight after all.

Well that's good to hear.  With no new episode, the board's been a little dead and I had almost forgotten to keep checking in altogether.  :???:

The most wacky of all!

If by "wacky" you mean "awesome," then I agree.  Seriously, that's a well done cosplay.  Especially considering some of the other Guts disasters I've seen.

Anyway, judging from this thread, it's nice to see I'm not the only one spending a lot of time at the SA forums.  :troll:

I'm going to be an asshole and predict an utter letdown in comparison to the hype.  Guts hangs on to Zodd, Zodd gets out of water.  Ganishka has blown his load, so he dissappears and leaves his army to finish the fight(and they get raped as usual, daka suck).  Then Guts and crew walk off looking for the ship but they have trouble finding it so it takes 10 pages. When they do find it, half of it is on fire and the other half is lodged up a dead Makara's ass.  And just to make things worse, Skull Knight appears at the end of the episode and tells them he was drunk when he mentioned that thing about Casca getting cured, so it was bullshit.

You're probably right except for the part with Skull Knight.  I wouldn't be surprised if the ship has been destroyed.  Then Guts and co. will probably spend another year searching for one.

LOL! If that doesnt make you guys need to loosen up...only a couple more days, we have waited this long, whats 2 more days?

Hey Mike, I would have never guessed that skull knight drinks, lol.

Well, I did happen to find this laying around on my harddrive... (not my drawing though)

It's a really stylized shot for it to just be "panel 1."  The completely white background throws it off for it to be Griffith's camp. Unless it's some heated internal emotions going through Zodd at the moment, I don't see it happening?

It does kind of look like one of those "very special moment" flashback and/or monologue scenes Miura throws at us every once and a while now that you mention it.

Ya see what I did there? In the face of logic, I had a CONVICTION about what the episode will be, and I'll fall in a blaze of glory if I'm wrong.  THAT'S speculation, old school.  :void:

That's just how we roll.  :badbone:

I'm partial to more abstract stuff for my desktop, and the wallpaper tends to change like the weather, since I'm kind of fickle.

Not to burst anyones bubble but has anyone considered the possibility that the shot of Zodd is taken from when hes at the camp recieving orders from griffith. I mean it could also be a flashback to explain why hes there and the strategy involved (if there is one). But then again this is Miura were talking about and he can get VERY unpredictable.

This is no place for logic!  Now is the time for wild, outlandish speculation!  ;)

You're probably right though.  The rational side of me knows that this preview is probably something fairly mundane from the *present* day (or recent past).  But the fan side of me wants to believe in a dramatic flashback ever since the idea was first raised in the thread.

Sometimes, it's not easy to care so much...   :judo:

Fair enough point, but it's hard not to be caught up into the speculate of this seemingly out of context preview. What really plays on my mind is how it comes to this point. I mean its seems somehow unlikely that the story will progress to the point were Zodd will be in such a states as is shown. As we have seen on a number of occasion flashback into other character lives it's not unreasonable to assume this maybe one of those time. Bringing up another quandary, why? Perhaps it is the result of him falling into the sea?(the sea have a connection with the astral world? If I'm remembering rightly) But lets face it we can only have feebly guess for now, but that is part of the fun in waiting.... even if I would rather the answers now.

Well, Zodd is supposed to have lived for a very long time.  Could he have some kind of history with or prior knowledge of Ganishka?  Or possibly the battle just "brings back memories"?

(I'm just kind of pitching theories out here, so take it as you will).

It's really hard to tell from that image if that's just Zodd's usual human form or if it's his true human form, from before he became an apostle.  I've tried to compare it to other similar images, but they look so much alike that I can't really make up my mind one way or the other.

In any case, as unlikely as it may be, I would love to see some kind of flashback or at least a hint at Zodd's past.

Yeah, t's pretty unbearable in California right now as well. I don't think I've perspired so much from just sitting around and lurking in forums. :schierke:

Hmm, it's pretty cool where I am, since it rained recently.  I'm sure it will be back in the 90's soon enough though.  :puck:

I'm from Kentucky (in the U.S., just to cover my bases).  It's kind of hard to find Berserk, or comics in general, in the area, but it's slowly getting easier.

This is pretty cool.  I didn't get to see much of BSOM since it closed not long after I got interested in Berserk.

That last picture reminds me a little of the armor Guts has right now in the manga.  I think it's because it's kind of pointy.

I think I must have discovered Berserk just as BSOM was reaching an ending.  I remember the site still existed at that point, but I don't think the boards were in use at all by then.  I do remember reading through Articnightfall though.

No one's yet mentioned how classy a title "Black Sun Over Midland" is. I can't think of a cooler website name.

Yes, I always loved that title.

I have a Myspace profile, but I mainly use it as a way to stay in touch with my friends since they never check their damn e-mail.  I don't understand the people who have a million pictures of themselves and want to get as many friends as possible, regardless of whether they know the people.  Generally, if I don't know someone in some capacity, I won't add them as a friend.

Shootin' the Breeze / Re: Beloved YTMND Robbed!!!

This was all I could find and it's coming from Wikipedia, so who knows:

"YTMND is the latest target of eBaum's World for alleged content theft. The gif hosted on the page Lindsay Lohan doesn't change facial expressions was branded with the eBaum's World watermark and been posted on the site. This caused an uproar in YTMND and massive amounts of anti-eBaum's YTMNDs have appeared. Additionally, YTMND users have contacted others from Newgrounds, 4chan, adult swim, KNova, Fark, LUE, LivingWithStyle and LUElinks to spam the website; the eBaum's World forums have repeatedly gone down and its chatbox is backlogged."

It wouldn't surprise me, just about everything on that site is stolen from somewhere.
