Berserk Miscellaneous / Re: Berserk Musou (PS3, PS4, PC)

I was expecting something more impressive than a poof of smoke as a transformation effect.

It's steam I believe, rather than smoke. It's how Zodd's transformation is supposed to look.

Kinda sluggish for Zodd, but the big guys are usually made to be the slow ones in these games.  Sweet transformation, but the special is pretty lame.

Yeah, such a shame. Wish his movement was faster with more dexterity to his sword swings.

Zodd is one of my least favs so far... I thought that Schierke looks better... I think we might get around 4 or 5 more characters, still hoping for SK, Silat, Azan, Isidro and Locus, Grunbeld is confirmed to be NPC right?

I believe both Grunbeld and Silat are already confirmed as boss fights.

Whew, that was not great. Zodd isn't a sluggish fighter. When he and Guts were fighting on the Hill of Swords, Rickert remarked they were moving so fast that he couldn't track their movements -- it was just a whirlwind. This Zodd looks like he's been Zangief'd for some reason. And that special attack at the end, with the tornado making soldiers spin around, looked more like a game bug than an intentional effect.

Completely agree. He's a force to be reckoned with when it comes to both brute strength and decisive/quick swordsmanship.

Just bought the new Attack on Titan game for PS4. Holy crap this game is fun.

Repetitive, yes, but I just came here to fly around towns with the omnidirectional gear, slashing Titan's limbs off till the cows come home. They did a great job. :ubik:

It's not about internet points.

lol -4 karma? I thought this would be a cool community to talk about one of my favorite series with, not a bunch of touchy spergs. Peace out.

... Seems like it was. Anyhow, glad you're wanting to take a second chance. Just voice what you want to say as long as it's respectful :guts:

So if none are outdoing the eclipse (which is the most traumatizing event out of them all for Guts) then for me it's not too much.

Berserk torture rooms are always fun to read through. Volume 18, p. 171, a nice shot of a boob being pulled apart by the breast ripper, and then some poor individual who had the Pear of Anguish inserted inside them

:magni: No thank you!

I've got a couple vintage, official t-shirts. One was sold during the run of the 1997 TV series. It's black with the skull & beherit illustration in the center. Don't think I have a picture of it handy though.

Nice! I'd like to see them sometime. Do you wear them or are they purely collectibles?

Berserk Anime / Re: 2016 Berserk TV series: Episode 10

Yeah and although i was joking, the sad truth is that alot of gamecube games look alot better (better character models etc) than the new anime.

Sad but true. I'm currently replaying the J-PS2 Berserk: Millennium Falcon game. It amazes me still how well the game looks being 12 years old. I have to bring up this picture again to let it sink in how far real talent & the correct use of 3D animation can go. If only the programmers and directors of this game were involved with making this anime instead. They stuck true with the original story and portrayed the characters in a way everyone could appreciate.

This episode was okay. Why bother censoring this anime in the first place, though? It ruined the whole fight scene with Mozgus' henchmen.

The music in this episode especially seemed really off and poorly edited. Sounded too choppy.

I think it looks awesome. Great job on the background especially. Guts looks like he's from an old adobe flash animation :ganishka:

Keep it up!

I've had this shirt for a couple years now and it tends to be my lazy stay at home shirt. I love the simple design of it. I'm sure there are crazy nice shirts/other types of clothing out there that I haven't seen on the internet. What types of Berserk clothing/accessories do you guys own?

Wow, her game play looks great. I'd like to see other enemies than trolls and soldiers, though. Makes me wonder.

Berserk Miscellaneous / Re: How Did You Find Out About Berserk?
« on: September 01, 2016, 03:52:22 AM »
I had a friend in middle school (somewhere in 2003), and he had the first Berserk volume. I glanced at it for a bit and didn't think much of it. Years later I happened to spontaneously by the anime from some review online and slowly became obsessed with it. When I found out there was more than the giant cliff hanger the anime left me at, I ended up buying the books from Amazon.

Berserk is an amazing experience and I'm happy I came across it :guts:

Speculation Nation / Re: Elfhelm: the stage for the next great tragedy

She'll either try to pull a Ganishka and become an Apostle to fight against the God Hand, putting her in direct opposition with Guts, or we may actually see the Apostle-to-be refusing the call for once.

Ganishka didn't become an apostle just so he could be in disposition of the God Hand. He decided that later himself as an apostle.

Either way, no. I highly doubt Casca will activate the beherit and become an apostle.

Maybe one of the God Hand will even perish fighting the Flowerstorm King, giving the heroes a bit of hope by proving that they can be defeated after all, and setting things up for the endgame.

We don't know the power of the Sovereign of Flower Storm compared to that of the God Hand as of yet. I doubt the God Hand will make a true appearance on Elfhelm unless the beherit is somehow activated. If one was to make an appearance, it would be like what happened in the Qliphoth with Guts and Slan.

The idea of having one of the God Hand die by the Sovereign of Flower Storm doesn't have a lot of weight on it now.

We've finally made it to Elfhelm proper, meeting a character we've been anticipating for more than a decade. Hear our thoughts on this grand reveal, and another huge revelation about the Berserk world.

Thanks guys! Very interesting podcast :guts:

We're at such an interesting point in this series. It's very exciting.

That fucking scene... Why is it so long?

Dude this scene was so important to the series. It really should have been 10 seconds longer. These animators know how to portray this series in the most perfect way....

*cries in a corner*

I wonder if they're going to include to include the Bakiraka that came before the black dog knights, just as a mini boss or something, i don't expect them to be fully playable.

Yeah.. I'd say that's pushing it a bit. The fight would be too cramped since they're in a sewer. You'd be hitting the walls 90% of the time playing Guts. CLANG CLANG CLANG

It's called the Urumi and i think we'll definitely see it. It's probably going to be one of the main weapons and not even a special, it works perfectly in a musou game, chakram spam is gonna a thing too

Thank you for the correction :serpico:

he better have a special where the tapasa jump in and beat the shit out of everyone

I'm putting money down on that! That would be sick. Or if his special were to be that crazy (thunder?) whip he used when fighting Guts during the raid of the Hawks camp. Can't remember what it was called. Either one would be awesome.

What in the hell happened to the soldier directly behind Casca at the end of this GIF? Was that supposed to be Casca hitting his hit box?? He kinda just floats away into oblivion lol

Casca Trailer -
Judeau Trailer -

Awesome. Their gameplay looks smooth.

They have to at least add Skull Knight in the roster :SK:

You could argue its not humans who are weak but apostles because they choose the easy way out. In that aspect, Guts is superior to them.
The humans are the weak ones for the majority of the time, because of how fragile they can be and easily manipulated. They chose a sacrifice to achieve instant results and become something that can make all their problems as a weak individual, disappear. The reason for the human would choose someone for a sacrifice is because they were either desperate, full of anger, seeking revenge, terrified of death, or power driven. The humans took the easy way out, not the other way around.

The apostle that is born is a direct result of their inconsideration of another's life, a sort of morality and an egoistical issue. The person who made the sacrifice in the first place is focused particularly on their own single desires and being self-centered. So at the moment in time when it comes to choose a sacrifice, for them the most moral and reasonable action to them will benefit them and only them. They sacrifice to avoid being punished (death) and their action holds little to no consequences because they are now the ones in complete control of another life. Though sometimes this isn't 100% true as we've seen with the Count having to sacrifice his daughter in order to stay alive, but ended up choosing death.

The majority of humans are weak and self-centered, but their are ones who aren't as fragile as others, and will bring consequences to the humans who chose otherwise.  :guts:

Character Cove / Re: What Apostle/Creature did you like the best?

Has to be Grunbeld for me, by far. I've always had a fascination with Giants and Dragons. I would love more story about him.

This is a little less traditional but i adore all of the apostle troops in Zodd's "division" and my favourite creature is a lanky chicken looking one that routinely shows up in the crowds. By my count he's survived two skirmishes with the Kushan and the raid on Flora's. Currently MIA as of Falconia's inception but counting on him to pull through.
Haha, rooting for the chicken apostle! There has also been the ram apostle that is involved in the Lance unit of the New Band of the Hawk I've been sort of watching out for. I just like his armor design.
