Anime Asylum / Re: 2017 Berserk TV Series (Season 2)
« on: April 19, 2017, 02:28:08 AM »
This is why I have a hate/love relationship with this anime. It's so bad and stupid but the shitposts that have come from it crack me up.
This shit posts are about the only good thing to have come from this anime. An iron skillet will forever be the greatest weapon ever wielded by man.

Its kinda sad, I actually like the 2D art. Its not great, but I like what they went for with it. The 3D models they are using for this anime though are worse than the ones used in the Musou game.

As Delta said, it feels like its finally starting to find its footing, because this was the most enjoyable episode so far for me, even if it wasn't the best on a technical level. Its established the goal, its attempted to establish the important characters, its attempted to catch people up as to the world and such. All it has to do now is follow Miura's story. If they can just do the rest of the arc the way they did this episode, I
think ill be able to forget/ignore the horrible opening few.

The big thing that's stopping from just enjoying the episodes however, is the jarring switch between 2D and 3D animation. If they just committed to one or the other, 100% 2D or 100% 3D, I think it would really have helped it. Or at the very least cut down on one or the other. Don't mix 2D characters with 3D characters and what not. We would actually be able to get used to the characters and their jankyiness. Instead we are left with constant switching between 2 different art style so we can never get comfortable with how everything looks.

Best opinion I have found on it so far - "This episode is great guys, it allows us to suffer just like Guts."

It was horrible. I'm going to watch it all, every last episode, in the far off hope that at some point something of quality happens. Just one moment. That's all I want. And if it doesn't happen, well it was nice while it lasted.

My friend talked me into a silly challenge and, being the masochistic DS addict that I am, I accepted. The challenge is to play through the game at SL1, without leveling up once. Ive made it to Artorias so far and have been bashing my face against his steel plated arms stone Colosseum walls for days.

I have to beat it though... I cant just leave a challenge started unfinished.

Ive only played it through 2 before the DLC. Once as a heavy armor and two handed sword user, slugging it out hit for hit with most of the bosses and the other as a Pyromancer. Never tried fast dex builds though. Just were not my thing.

Im incredibly tempted to do a great bow play through though just so I can shoot things with Goughs Greatbow. Seems like it would be pretty challenging to.

I have been playing Last of Us the past few days and I have been loving it. Story and characters have been very well written so far and its a very tense game that does an amazing job of making even the regular enemies in it very very frightening and very very capable of murdering you. I also like how, if you have the skills to pay the bills, you can play pretty much however you want.

Femto didn't seem to have much of a problem dealing with Skull Knight when Skull Knight attacked him atop Ganishka.
Yes, but that was using God Hand powers. I think he was more meaning physical combat, such as Sword v Sword/Apostle.

Just beat Artorias in the DLC. Man how I missed running into a fight blind and learning by just fighting him over and over and over again.

Why do you think it's better than the anime? I'd say the anime was true to the story a heck of a lot more than the movies. If you mean visuals then yeah they are slightly better but nothing amazing. The 3D experiment was a failure.
In general id say yeah the 3D failed, but there were some parts that I thought worked really really well in 3D ((Not all of them in this movie)). I would have to go back and rewatch the other ones to get a full list of the scenes I thought worked well, but there were def afew.

I think that they just need to practice and get better at it in house before they attempt it again on a big movie release.

I finally got to watch it so here's what I think of it.

First off I want to give it a 1.5 stars, but since I cant I'm going to round down to not give it to much credit. Twas better than the first 2, but that's not saying much. There are a lot of things that were just horrible with the movie. I felt that in a lot of the scenes the music was badly chosen ((The music itself was alright, just rarely fit what was going on on screen)), characters were misrepresented or didn't get their final moments ((Judeau, Gaston, Silat just to name a few)) and that there were some things that they could have fit in to make it flat out better but didn't.

The ending was also a poor choice. Why the fields? Couldn't have added another 20-30 minutes for Godot, the Pig apostle, Demon baby or the Dragon Slayer? I feel those extra 30 minutes would have been worth it. Try and end on a high note you know? Anyways here's just a complete list of the things I had a problem with or felt were alright. I'm sure I missed some things but I was to busy cringing.

I don't really think they should be lauded for including things that should have been in the movie no matter what, but seeing as they still missed some important ones I'm going to give them these.
-SK looked great. Coulda done a bit more with him, but he looked great.
-I'm glad they got Corkus little line about always wanting to lead a charge like that. I half expected them to miss it.
-SK's swipe at Void. Similar with Corkus, I kinda expected them to just forget it.

Here's a few things that angered me, but I can live with
-Void's entrance wasn't what I hoped it to be.
-Odd choice of Beherit transformation
-Why a blue Eclipse?
-Skipping straight to being in the castle...
-Griffith's whole cell scene in the beginning.
-Guts entrance and fight with Silat.
-Griffiths smile's to Guts just looked evil in the movie.

And now for the list of the biiiig problems I had.
-Silat. He looked like a villainous bad guy, with nothing else going for him. I like the character and they ruined his entrance into the series if they make more of these ((Please don't))
-Both the rape with Femto and the Guts/Casca scene left me really disappointed.
-Both Judeau and Gaston's last moments. Neither were what I was hoping for ((And I love Gaston. I dunno why, but hes a loveable dude.))
-Why not just come at and tell them Gaiseric is SK? That's pretty much what you did.
-The escape from the castle scene. It was to loud and I am disappointed they didn't manage to include the Bakiraka.
-No Wyald.
-Ubik came across was more malevolent than he should have in the mountain of corpses scene in my opinion.

And the big kicker for this list is... Guts almost overpowering/getting to Femto! Ding ding ding! We have a winner for most "What the hell did they add here" moment! Seriously... To me this just took away the whole feeling of hopelessness that scene first gave me when reading the series. By adding it into the movie it kinda ruined the Eclipse for me.

That's pretty much everything. There are some other small things I'm sad about, like the Noble outside the Tower who didn't get to give his "No man can kill 100 men" speech thing to his soldiers and then getting butchered, the fact that the king looked way to healthy in the movie ((Seriously, in the actual chapter the king did not look near that healthy.)) or that Guts was apparently a little go getter and got a particular scar afew volumes early.

Sadly I am out on a work trip and won't be back to watch it till around Sunday. What everyone is saying isn't giving me to much confidence in it though.

Nice work man! And yeah, in the words of that one guy from that one movie, "if you do something well, never do it for free. Especially if those beads cost money." :daiba:
Its something I enjoy doing alot, so I didnt mind at first when I was just making them for myself and family. Now though I am making *alot* more often so I kinda need to.  :ganishka:

So some of my fellow co-workers noticed the one or two of these I keep on my desk and asked if they could have one to. One actually asked for all of the Final Fantasy 1 main characters.

So far I only have Red Mage, Black Mage and White Mage.

Heres one I made for myself.

If the people at work keep asking for them I am gonna have to start charging for them cause beads cost money. Also I have yet to start on Apostle Zodd. I have to wait for my extra peg boards so that I have room to work with all the beads.

That was an amazing read. Thank you so very much taking the time to translate that because google translate does not do it justice.

I was really hoping the 7 year gap meant the project was dead and yet here it is. I can't help but shake my head every time I see an ad for this movie.
Silly. They took that 7 years cause they were filming everything in slow mo.

Everyone should dream about grown men with baby faces and green colored cartoon girl hair. It's the healthy thing to do.

Guys, look on the bright side. At least we got each other.
Im not sure which is worse. The break or being stuck here with a magnificent baby faced man.
