Yeah, they'll definitely make a press release to the public upon reading your email. Most large companies truly care about individual questions.

stronger than the e-mail or then pen , only time will tell ( and the fansubbers ^^ ) i feel that if a new berserk game is being shot out tho walt dont you feel just a little curious on why it would be un-coincidential with the release of a upcoming berserk tv series hmmmmm yes , man your pessimism is as unfounded as my optimism in this subject , yet the coincidence is that ray of hope for a berserk fan

I love YaBB 1 Gold!
If there really was a second series in production, don't you think the FIRST reports would be comming from Japan, and from the people whom would actually be involved in the making of such a second series and not a fansub company?

Fansub company... ??? erm wait wtf , check the origins of the report first

page no1 of the thread wereallmad, and yes thats why im not saying its a deffinate nor a absolute certainty since the release of info is not evan from my own country or japan , if you read what i said its only a coincidence more or less ^^

whoops, I thought this had to do with some other company making an announcement-animedia, or something. Did i somehow get this topic confused with another? Or did I imagine all that.

Hmm...

"Media Blasters said at Anime Central that Berserk 2 is currently in pre-production, but all this means is that the creative team that produced the original series are looking into creating a new series. They mentioned that the new series would be too violent for Japanese TV."

Look a little familiar? I found it in this post, from A YEAR AGO (April 2002 to be exact).

Well, that wasn't a rumor, I thought it was established a long time ago already that Berserk 2 was in pre-production. And I wouldn't exactly call Media Blasters a fansub company.

And the news from Nightcrawler's source above sounds too vague to be taken seriously in my opinion. As long as they won't state their so called 'reliable source' I won't believe anything they or anyone else says.

Yeah, right...

Are you doubting me? I said pre-production, which means that they only have been looking into making a new Berserk series. This is a fact, I thought you already knew this. If you want, I could dig up the source for you which makes it about 99% certain it is not a rumor. But I must admit it isn't even that exciting news.

Mizar, the problem is "pre-production" sounds too official. The current status of Berserk 2 is more like the studio wondering to themselves "wouldn't it be cool if...?"

Genn, I was trying to show that this rumor has been around for a long time, not that it was true.

well of course theres no official news , hell when did miurra's company announce it,stop being a bragable eccentric kimchan , i never said " well hey its GOING TO DEFFINATLY BE RELASED NOW " all i stated was that 2004 is right around the corner and that will judge if the rumoursss (looky there) are right or wrong , which i support as a berserk fan being on the board obviously , my hopes however do go torward the series being released and not against it , but i will not support b,s propoganda , just my own theory that several places have released info on a berserk tv series relased in 2k4 & now a game is coming out which i find a lot of times happens when movies / tv series pop up ^^

OK, I can settle with that. Media Blaster's staff was probably so excited themselves to hear from their Japanese contacts that they were 'looking into it', that they decided to make it public news.

But anyway, I was merely trying to point out that there's a difference between this old news (which isn't a rumor, people are just reading too much into it), and the rumor about the new serie that has supposedly been officially announced by Nippon TV to come out in 2004 (if you believe the Italian site which was linked to here). So far the only information we got (rumor or not) about a second Berserk series is Media Blaster's own news report about Berserk 2 being in pre-production, plus this Italian site bluntly stating that Nippon TV announced Berserk 2 for 2004 and now we can also add the source Nightcrawler mentions using vague terms like 'according to a reliable source' and 'might very well be that...'. All three give us completely different information about a 2nd Berserk series so it's important to keep them apart. I think the last two are completely unreliable since they can't be backed up by any further evidence; Nippon TV hasn't announced anything about airing a second series for instance. But I think the first one is reliable enough to be accepted as true, but here you have the problem that people are reading far too much into it. That's all.

[edit]
Maybe someone from Italy can send this site a mail why they are bluntly stating that Nippon TV announced to air Berserk 2 in 2004?

Yeah, and that's not what I call "pre-production". At all.

And what do you call "pre-production", exactly?

Here, I found a few sources about this. The first one is a news report from animeondvd.com. See this link. I quote from that article
"The second season is being worked on in Japan right now. They are in the process of drawing up the storyboards. However, the next section of the story is so violent, they aren't sure it will even be able to air in Japan"

The second source comes from animenewsnetwork.com who says basically the exact same thing as the first one. See this article. Again I quote only the relevant part: "Additionally, Media Blasters confirmed that a second season of Berserk is entering pre-production. However, due to its extremely violent nature, it is uncertain if any Japanese TV stations will be willing to air.

And lastly take this article for instance. I quote:
"Berserk 2 is in pre-production!! I went to Media Blaster's booth later in the day to ask John Sirabella about this, and he confirmed it. HOWEVER, he stressed that all this meant was that the creative team in Japan was looking into creating more. It's not definite, yet. If this does happen, you would assume that Media Blasters would get first crack at it, though. The ANN guy told me that at the panel, it was mentioned that this new season might not air on Japanese television, due to all of the glorious violence."

And, I'm curious, what exactly would you call this?

Definitely not just "considering it".
"The second season is being worked on in Japan right now. They are in the process of drawing up the storyboards. However, the next section of the story is so violent, they aren't sure it will even be able to air in Japan"
That's bull. You don't start working on storyboards when you don't even know if it's going to be a TV series/an OVA series/whatever. And an official announcement would have been made in Japan. It was months ago, and what did we hear? Nothing. At. All.
"Media Blasters confirmed that a second season of Berserk is entering pre-production..
Yeah, it's "entering" pre-production, alright. It's not quite in pre-production yet, but it will be in any time now! Really!
"Berserk 2 is in pre-production!! I went to Media Blaster's booth later in the day to ask John Sirabella about this, and he confirmed it. HOWEVER, he stressed that all this meant was that the creative team in Japan was looking into creating more. It's not definite, yet.
Well, that says it all. They were _thinking_ about it. Then again, they most probably already were back when the TV series came to an end.
Talk about major news. Stop the presses, everyone!
The ANN guy told me that at the panel, it was mentioned that this new season might not air on Japanese television, due to all of the glorious violence."
Yeah, 'cause, you know, it doesn't exist yet, but it's already so violent, we don't even know if it will be a TV series.
It all seems so concrete already. That's Pre-Production Power for you.
And, I'm curious, what exactly would you call this?
I wouldn't bother giving that a name, really...

Too violent for Japanese television? If that was the case there probably would have never been a Berserk series at all.
