The time limit forces you to try and convey as much information as possible with the smallest amount of strokes. Instead of going in there and detailing out the fur, for example, a quick larger stroke conveys a block of hair and a smaller zig-zag stroke will indicate a highlight.
I try and do a lot of these and 99% of them turn out like shit (still learning) but this one turned out surprisingly "ok". So hopefully that's a sign of progress

Do have a higher res version you can upload? Are you planning on spending some time on that one? I'd like it as a wallpaper, to be honest.
The tower is a bit sloped in the manga when it forms the hand-like shape (I just did this from memory, tho)
Well, at this stage it's really just a mess of squiggles and dots at a higher resolution, and doesn't really hold up. I hadn't really planned on taking it much further, but maybe... dunno.

Actually it's more than a little sloped, and by that I mean more sloped than in your painting.
The only thing I'd complain about is that the shape of the palm isn't that great, basically you forgot to "dig" it like in the manga, so the final shape seems a bit awkward. But hey, can't blame you given the conditions it was executed under. =)

Yea the tower didn't turn out quite right. A quick glance at the manga before I had to go back to work showed a lot of problems with how I constructed the tower. A lot of my focus went to trying and give the impression of many bricks comprising the tower but I don't think I accomplished that in the time frame. Ah well. It was good practice.
