Digitally Distributed PC games ON SALE Thread

Feel the funk blast
Thanks for the heads up guys! I don't catch Steam sales that often because I don't always pay attention. :farnese: But I just picked up Bioshock, since I've been waiting for it to go on sale for a while.

Two things happening right now on Steam. First, there's their annual Thanksgiving Holiday Sale, which will rotate 5 new discounted games each day. Second, make a wish list of games, like, right now. 30 Steam members (of ~3million) will be selected daily to be given their top 5 games.

Over on http://Direct2Drive.com they have an even more interesting sale going on. Every 5th purchase made on the site is free. Now, in practical terms, that means Users 1-4 will pay full price, but lucky User 5 will get their purchase for free. Pretty awesome, though I still really hate Direct2drive as a service.

Thanks for the heads up, Walt. I had to reassemble my wishlist.

Here's mine:

1. Darkest of Days (looks really original for an FPS)
2. Risen
3. The Witcher: Enhanced Director's Cut Edition (why wouldn't I want this?)
4. The Last Remnant
5. The Path
6. Advent Rising
7. Dark Messiah: Might & Magic (Arx Fatalis was incredible)
8. Wolfenstein (I really enjoyed Singularity and heard this was even better, same devs)
9. Fallout: New Vegas
10. Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Also noticed Deus Ex was incredibly cheap (like £1.99 or something rediculous like that!)

Whoa Kane & Lynch 2 is 5 bucks today on Steam. I think I'm gonna buy it, the demo was bitchin. And it's like 5 hours long according to Oburi iirc so I guess it's worth it!

Omigosh. Steam is having some nutty sales. I already bought SMB, but this warrants buying it again for the new PC characters. I'll probably buy everything else in the store, too.

Ahhh, been waiting a year for this :carcus: Too bad I already own most of it at this point... :judo:

Thank goodness. Maybe one day I'll have every game ever made and I won't have to spend anymore money on games I don't have time for!

Recklessly bought Super Meat Boy while I don't have a controller for the PC. :schierke: I'll have to remedy that I guess. Other than that, the F.E.A.R. franchise deal is tempting, since I've never played a game from the series.

Ended up buying Tropico 3, that humbleindie pack, and The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom(it was 45 cents!) I'm so far behind on games I own and need to play/beat, but I can't help it! Those savings!(saving money I never would have spent if the prices weren't so low :farnese:)

I ended up skipping on SMB since I already have it for the X-box. I don't think I have the guts to beat all those hard levels again.

Bought Half Life source, Amnesia, Zen Bound 2 *Awesome!* Winter Voices and finally the Deus Ex Pack which was like 2 bucks. Wow.

Steam is having some pretty swell deals all week FYI. Good to keep an eye out. So far Just cause 2 and Batman Arkham Asylum have popped up for a total steal.

Incredible deals today, particularly all three Assassin's Creed titles on PC for $27. Just amazing... I've spent about $100 on them all.

I also highly recommend Defense Grid. It's one of my favorite games on Steam, and the best tower-defense game in the genre.

I'm so glad I got the potato sack package thing, when portal 2 was coming out. Came with Defense Grid and super meat boy plus several other games. Both of which are freakin fantastic!!
