There's a "Berserk public commemorative display" that will take place at a festival held in Tokyo (in the Kichijoji PARCO mall to be precise) from October 1st to October 10th. Their life-size replica of the Dragon Slayer will be there.
Eddie said:Do you know if there's gonna be any other berserk things on display there, or will it just be the Dragon Slayer replica?
Aazealh said:I'm pretty sure there'll be other things. How about you go and take some pictures for us?

Not necessarily. These are two completely different projects, and Berserk's has the backing of a major distributor: Warner Bros.Blues said:the chance of getting it in a theater is awesome, though I gather it'll be as limited as those Evangelion 2.0/Knockin On Heaven's Door screenings.
Yep, there is another thread, and it'd be best for discussion if you'd relegate dubbing/voice acting posts to that thread in the future. Thanks!I know another thread was discussing dubbing,
That is a pretty funny-looking site, but I won't prejudge the guy's ability based on it. I'm sure he has some cred if they went out of their way to contract him for the project. BTW, where'd you find out that this was their guy?Most..interestingly, this seems to be the guy they're leaving all their "Swordwork" up to,

Again, these are two different projects by two different companies. Their production schedules don't have to mirror each other. For all we know, the full Golden Age section of Berserk is being animated now, and they'll split up some post-production stuff over the next year or two. No dates or hints about subsequent releases have been announced. Part 2 could come in 6 months, or in 2 years. We just don't have any way of knowing at this point.I doubt they are shooting out films 1-2-3 back to back (could be wrong?), and judging by the rebooted Eva's pace, it could be a long wait. I suppose I'm hoping too much to get my hands on any black swordsman arcs (pending they happen) before 2020?

Western Swordsmanship Coach: Jay Noyes (Final Fantasy XII)
Ah, well he's also listed in the credits posted here in the thread, I just have overlooked his name until now.JezzaX said:I assume this might be the source for the guy
I agree with Walter, don't judge a book by its cover . I searched his name in Youtube, and this video showed up. I have no idea if it's actually the guy we are talking about. Anyway here is the video.Blues said:Most..interestingly, this seems to be the guy they're leaving all their "Swordwork" up to,

The fact that they even bothered to contract a weapon specialist is encouraging. That really wasn't a necessary step for an anime adaptation. But seeing as how Miura has largely based his equipment and weapon designs on real-life counterparts, it's a show of good faith.CCS said:His sword skills look pretty solid. Anyway they're probably using him for motion capture for CG knights in the background, not for the main character actions.
By all means, please don't revive an older thread just because you have something really small to contribute. But by that same token, don't mix in that stuff in the News thread just because you don't feel like elaborating your feelings into a more meaningful post. I'd rather this topic regarding new information discussion not become a repository for stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else.Blues said:Walter, the "dub" comment was just thrown in to avoid reviving an entire two month old topic over something that actually did fit in with what I was going for (localization process in general, vs something that didn't even start out as a discussion on the new VAs?...) but what have you.
Well, then it would probably have been better for you to elaborate a little more about what you meant in your post instead of leaving it with "yeahhhhhhhhhh".Regarding Jay, I think a lot of people read too much into my statement at the end, being more directed at his website/title/..knitting profession than say, a knock on his actual contribution to the film which up until the clips I had no concept to comment on.
Cool, thanks for sharing these. The guy seems to know his stuff, and also be integrated into Japan already. A good way to market yourselfBlues said:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoG2m_Pe-6c&feature=related

Neat, but again the distinction here isn't that important. That they're even bothering to incorporate an "expert" opinion, regardless of the method of his own education, shows that they care about accuracy.Anyways, an area I'm ironically far more familiar with, Japanese swordsmanship tends to be passed down via the Koryu, which is a transmission from Soke to Soke, some make revisions, but it kind of goes in the polar opposite of the scholar-concept in play in most ARMA and western swordsmanship guilds today.
These are very good, thanks for sharing. I like how they both bow in front of the sword before they start practicing.Blues said:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoG2m_Pe-6c&feature=related
