bph said:My only fear is that Sarkozy's going to be dealing with another completely unqualified U.S. president
bph said:My point was really that if Royal had won as a socialist, well...we Americans don't typically like Socialism all that much, and I don't think there'd be any pressure from the middle or the right to improve relations with France, whereas Sarkozy is someone Americans are more than comfortable in dealing with.

I must say, as an American, I'm unbelievably happy about this. Even if we elect a crazy left wing president here, I don't think we'd ever have been able to mend the recent U.S./French discord without Sarkozy on the other end.
The Perineum Falcon said:couldn't this be bad news bears for France, making certain tensions even worse?
Serpico said:None of it is that big of a deal. French relations are not that important, and they offer little to no benefit as allies
Serpico said:I don't know anything about this guy
Serpico said:I'm sure criticizing America as a pastime makes their lives rich and fullfilling
Serpico said:but their own country is in a sad state of affairs. The economy is bad. Their military is a joke (figurative and literally). They speak of human rights while they ban Muslims from practicing their religion and herd them into ghettos. The unemployment rate for Muslims there is what? 75%-90%? Frequent rioting, etc. I personally find it amusing how the French hold their opinions so high when less than 5% of the population has completed higher education.
Serpico said:I wish them luck in dwelling on our wrong-doings, but they should realize most Americans have better things to do than care what they think.

Aazealh said:Well you're not one of those Americans apparently. The joke is that actually nobody gives a shit here about what misinformed idiots like you think, and that on the contrary, you'll always find ignorant raging and bitter simpletons of your kind to diss France with phantomatic facts.
Serpico said:Aazealh, you are the one who is "raging" here, so apparently I struck a nerve for you but it isn't mutual.
Serpico said:Why don't you offer up some facts with what you say or keep it to yourself. I am sorry if you don't like it but anyone can look up anything I presented. If you find evidence to the contrary lets see that rather than making me read your whining.
Serpico said:@all
The insults are only amusing to me. I am not very sensitive to attacks on my intelligence. Despite what you think there was no animosity behind my statements so if you get your buttons pushed you are only wasting your own energy.
Serpico said:It isn't that random. The discussion was about French and U.S. relations. I was pointing out they should worry about themselves because the reality is that is what they can actually fix.
Aazealh said:What was your purpose when you posted in this thread other than to talk bad about a country you obviously don't know other than through the wonderfully objective Fox News channel?
But then again, you know, since I'm admin here I think I'm free to reply to whatever thread I want. =) On the other hand, if you have nothing better to say than what you've posted in this thread so far I'd heartily recommend you to keep your contributions to yourself. Thanks in advance.
Aazealh said:I don't need to offer facts in answer to the ridiculous bullshit you graced us with, I mean where's your evidence? Indeed, anybody can verify that you don't know what you're talking about and that's why I have no reason to bother with it, actually I doubt anyone would take it seriously considering how grotesque it is in the first place.
CnC said:Perhaps you could stand a little more sensitivity on those attacks, as your contributions thus far to this discussion indicate a severe lack of intelligence.

Serpico said:Aaz, I got those statistics in Soc class, used them in a paper. I got an A.
Serpico said:I don't feel the need to spout achievements but my intelligence is not in question.
Serpico said:Personally I think being nice is better than being smart anyway, and I am really pretty nice as well if you know me.
Walter said:Dude, you criticized and slandered a whole country. What kind of response did you expect?
Griffith No More! said:Oh really? Well, that tempered point obviously came across very well and in relevant fashion. Fantastic communicator skills on display. I guess now that you're going to act above your own mess it doesn't really matter anymore, though.
As for insults, in a pure sense, insults are unfounded or out of line. For example, my point about the irony of your overall statements and the inherent stupidity of their construction are not an insult or flames. Poignant observations.
I bet; it just goes with the territory (again, this is just an example of wit =).
Anyway, in any case, you still seem to be missing the point that you're one-sided generalizations about an entire country are as bad as the same kind of Anti-American tripe, only more so since we should know better than to, in your own words, dwell on wrong-doings. I guess they didn't teach you that in Soc class.
CnC said:Personally I feel you have demonstrated a complete lack of social sensitivity. If you wanna be that guy in the room who spouts absurdities or broad generalizations (most of which are hypocritical, to this point) under the adolescent veil of "telling it like it is", that's your problem. Assuring people after the fact that you are, contrary to previous postings, intelligent and nice falls a little flat.
Serpico said:Griff you are right, I should work on my communication skills.
Serpico said:You wasted your time typing essentially the same insults you already have but in a drawn out manner when I told they aren't getting you anywhere.
