I suck Halo down like coca cola.  Pretty excited about 4 and the remake.  I just hope the series goes in an interesting direction with the new devs.

The Tomb Raider stuff looks amazing as well.  Minecraft on the 360?  Sorry fortresscraft!

Also the two guys playing fake football was a real gem.  Thank goodness they gave us that!

Movies, TV, Books & Music / Re: Movies you've recently watched

Just got back from First class too.  I enjoyed it quite a bit.  I'm not too picky about these kind of movies.  I thought the casting and script was pretty good.  Not perfect, but certainly above the standard fare of a superhero flick.  Nothing felt too cheesy.  Magneto was really the standout.  Pretty cool.  It's been a while since I've seen the trilogy, but I think I enjoyed this a good bit more.

Question to all the purists who did watch the movie - how close is the movie's story-line to that of the comic-book?

I was with someone who read the comics growing up.  He said the movie was really a story of its own.  Not really connected in any significant way.  Though I'd love to hear someone elaborate on that.

Exactly! Haha.

Yea I installed this graphics compilation.
Then I installed many gameplay mods. Texture and mesh replacers don't count towards that number of mods. I just have the number of .esm and .esp files.

Nice man, I've seen some screenshots of it all prettied up, very impressive.

Been playing a lot of mobile games on my iphone4 lately.  Dark Nebula is excellent, it's a little physics based game set in a sci-fi world.  Pretty challenging on some later levels.  Sword & Sorcery EP, Feed me oil, Infinity blade and Espgaluda are awesome too.  I'm impressed by the quality of some of these titles.  Sorcery made me laugh out loud a few times.  Logfella is awesome.

Edit: Wanted to add Jet car stunts to that list.  Really fun.

I'm a little sad that I'm not as hyped about Cave Story as I initially was.  It looks okay, I'd still like to play it one day.  I still have a ton of DS games to go through before I care about getting a 3DS.

There's a game coming out called Labyrinth, don't know if it will make it stateside.  I hope so, because whatever it is, it's damn pretty.

Took this girl to this botanical garden in Oklahoma city.  Bitches love plants.

Besides being really hot it was pretty awesome.  I think I saw raptor eggs somewhere in there.  I'm also making her read Berserk.  She's at the part where the "Guy" fights that "Snake dude"

I, for one, think it's a fitting end. I'm actually looking forward to it MORE now. So bad it's good.

The question is...Is it so bad it's actually just bad?  Haha.  I watched the demo video and it actually looks better than what I expected.  I'm just surprised there's something here that resembles a game at all.

The demo is out for those who bought Borderlands. I just finished it. It feels like a game from the late 90s, crammed forcefully into modern day, without any of the polish that we've grown accustomed to. And that has nothing to do with the graphics. There's a lack of polish in all aspects of this game -- animation, level design, the feel of the weapons, I could go on and on.  Scripted sequences don't bother hiding themselves. You get stuck in ridiculously long animation sequences in first person, as Duke dusts himself off after a fall, or tightening his gloves after snapping a pig cop's neck. In the roughly hour-long demo, there are two driving sequences -- one in Duke's monster truck, and one in a fucking minecart, ala Donkey Kong Country. The guns don't feel powerful. The hit detection is weak, so it feels like you're shooting peas against a concrete wall. There is no mighty boot, at least in the demo.

It is terrible. This game should not exist. And this comes from a fan who's followed this game's development throughout all the years of its delay, and was even a member of the 3DRealms forum (walterbennet). I'm not trolling on Duke. Duke is trolling on us.

None of this really surprises me.  Sales are going to cruise on the Duke Nukem name.  For some reason I still want to play it even after reading your description.  Maybe that will change when I play it myself.

Neverdead trailer was amazing.  I love how wacky it is.  Looks like a lot of fun.  Here's a link.

Laura is looking good too.  I like the direction they're going.

Super excited for the MGS HD and Zone of Enders HD collections.  Never had a playstation because most of what I want comes over to xbox.  I'm glad they've decided to go multiplatform, always wanted to play their games.

Just curious, what exactly are you guys expecting to be announced regarding Skyrim that hasn't already been discussed? There are so many details out now about the game that there's very little left to reveal before it launches in November. I expect, at most, we'll get another trailer showing off a bit of gameplay.

Or is the sentiment more "I want to play that game, so I will be cheering for it at E3"?

A little bit of that.  You're right, it's really been discussed to death, especially on the TES forums.   I was looking forward to seeing a gameplay video without quick cuts, seeing some new creatures, etc.  I'm reconsidering watching the E3 coverage.  I want my first play through to be unsoiled.

Some info regarding a collectors edition would be nice though.  Those things people spend more money on because they have action figures and maps.

Kramer drinking and smoking at the same time:

Man, I laughed so hard at that Kramer bit.  That show was hilarious.

More Seinfeld stuff.  Kramer is such a spaz.  I about cried when he hit his head.

also, the wolverine guy looks like just some random guy in a tank top that you bumped into. or like an old college buddy lol

Like a college buddy he didn't want to run into.  Haha.  I wonder, did Wolverine have claws below the cropped picture?  I hope so.  Otherwise he is just a guy in a tank top.

You say this year, but it's not due out until sometime in 2012. Anyway, I wouldn't say that. The Wii's price drop will keep that thing selling, even if the software is declining. And the 3DS will only get bigger from here on out.
From what I've read and heard, though Child of Eden is playable with a controller, you miss out on a lot of the cool immersive stuff the Kinect does with the game. The Kinect version sounds much more preferable to me.

I've heard that too, but unless they make me salivate at some new unrevealed titles I'm going to be toughing it out with an old fashion controller.  Eden's control scheme with the kinect does seem really cool though.  I just can't warrant it for one cool game.  Maybe if I had kids!

And honestly, the hardware features are the least of what excites me about this console. A major console revision like this signals not only an upgrade for gaming specs, but an opportunity for Nintendo to really shift their policies out of the past and into the future. What I'd like to see Nintendo do is take a bold leap with a more open policy on online gaming -- to shed their thick skin and embrace the fact that everyone laughs at Friend Codes, and their virtually hidden Wii Shop. I wrote about this predicament of theirs before, 3 years ago. And their position is certainly no better now. Gaming truly is a different creature than it was when the Wii first launched back in 2006, and I expect Nintendo to show the world that they've learned some lessons in how to handle online games.

Agreed.  It would be really nice if they joined the rest of the world.  That's one of the biggest draws on the xbox for me.  It's so easy to communicate with your friends, see what they're doing, what they've been playing and play with them.  Lets hope Ninty jump on this opportunity.

So excited to see this thread fill up!  Great stuff to come!

Looking forward to nintendo stuff, for obvious reasons.  New xbox exclusives would be cool.  Indifferent concerning Kinect.  Maybe there will be some software to make me care this time.
The only Kinect oriented title I've found interesting is Child of Eden.  And that's playable on a controller, which kills any desire I have to go out and buy an expensive peripheral.

And finally, more news and gameplay of my dream game: Skyrim!

Been playing Infinity Blade on the Iphone.  Wow.  Pretty amazing for a phone.  The graphics and frame rate are top notch.  I hope they take the concept deeper in the future.  More exploration, towns, a deeper story and more enemies would make for an amazing sequel.

I just reinstalled Morrowind with many mods (115 to be exact). This will last me a while.

This game has seen many re-installs on my system too.  That's a lot of mods!  Are you using texture packs?
