Huh, did I ever say I coined the phrase "reverse racism"?

Actually I coined it. I mean fuck I've been saying reverse racism for years, you reverse racists.

Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdIhzfPakZ8 McCain's Economic Plan, sounds good to me.

My favorite quote from the article.

set off by $4 a gallon gasoline prices this summer.

Now I live in the South and I totally understand the WTF prices of gas, but honestly I blame the dumb ass redneck republicans who all went out and bought Hummers when the Iraq war started more than anyone else. Too bad you don't see those on the road too much anymore. Go figure.

"Give me convenience or give me death!" <--- new slogan for the Tweedle-dum and Tweedle-dee parties of the USA.

Yes, go to the bank and withdraw all your money now, because Jim Kramer, of MAD MONEY, believes the market is about to collapse.

I might have to rethink my dream job of working for the Washington Post, because I really don't want Chris Matthews calling me, asking me fucking questions.

You know, Sang can do that just as well for me, Wally, thanks. =)

And nobody go taking all your money out of the bank, or we're really screwed. Anyway, I thought it was interesting, particularly Steven Pearlstein who did most of the talking and analysis. Even Kramer was effective in conveying that there is a real problem, time's a factor, and there are consequences to not acting, whereas a lot of people probably feel like nothing that bad will happen anyway (until its already happened). My big fear isn't that they'll pass something lousy, but that they'll wait too long for it to even be effective, THEN they'll pass something lousy anyway.

Jesus Christ is suspending all other activity to focus on the financial crisis with John McCain.

Anyway, another savvy old man move, except he shouldn't even have even invited/challenged Obama to join him, but just showed up on C-SPAN blustering in Congress, "AND WHERE, IS THE BAT MAN!?" :guts:

It could also be argued that it's to McCain's advantage to postpone the debate on foreign policy because nobody gives a shit about it at the moment.

Honestly I thought you posted it BECAUSE it was so ridiculously over-the-top. I mean the clip starts out with Chris Matthews and Kramer spreading the worst doom and gloom Ive heard on the subject yet, outside of Paulson's own fire and brimstone to Congress.

Don't misunderstand me - this a serious fucking problem. I don't think anyone thinks this is going to go away without being resolved quickly. But I think they're overstating the truth here. The way they approached it in the clip PRIOR to bringing in the Washington Post guy was clearly done to incite the public. The expert was called in for damage-control. Even Kramer somewhat conceded from his earlier arguments with an embarrassed smile.

Also, I think McCain's approach today is both hilarious and awesome. I'm picturing him bursting into Washington wearing blue spandex, a red cape and a big "Mc" emblazoned on his chest. My hero! :ganishka:

PS: fucking loling here, I didn't even see your post referring to Batman when I'd written my own Superman one. This superhero analogy is officially here to stay.

Then I would have made it myself for all the snarky glory. :badbone:

I left no comment at first just so people could take it as they would. I thought it was interesting because they weren't clueless Democrat/Republican honks debating it with the usual party line nonsense that had nothing to do with the realities of the situation, which actually followed in an interview right after...

It was very simply explained and seemingly un-politicized.

But yeah, I hope Kramer is full of shit and my bank isn't going to close (notice he said a bank, but not which, equally responsible and fear inducing =) if Congress doesn't get something done... but the possibility is unsettling nonetheless as they very well could not get anything done for the above mentioned reasons . The world could be burning down and they'll be arguing about not raising taxes or standing up to Bush. The Comedian comes to mind. =)

Don't misunderstand me - this a serious fucking problem. I don't think anyone thinks this is going to go away without being resolved quickly. But come on man, the way they approached it in the clip PRIOR to bringing in the Washington Post guy was clearly done to incite the public. The expert was called in for damage-control. Even Kramer somewhat conceded from his earlier arguments with an embarrassed smile.

Well, part of that is just that he's (Kramer) always seemingly ready to have a nervous breakdown, I take him with a grain of salt in that regard, but still take him at his word. He's an expert in his own right even though he's the wacky kind, the type if he were your econ professor or something you'd think he was awesome. Anyway, the way to look at is if he thought the Paulson plan was bad, he'd be going just as over the top against it, the fact that he wasn't it what really got my attention. The other thing that struck a chord, when was the last time you've seen these two guest panels result in them both totally agreeing with each other 100%. Now THAT'S scary.

PIES!!!

That was interesting, could hardly believe that Clinton was effectively saying that Ron Paul was right all this time (he did this by identifying that it was the excess liquidity in the economy that came from the artifically low interest rates creasted by the FED that caused this housing bubble). Have I just missed this about Clinton or is this something he just hasn't talked about in public before?

The Ron Paul Revolution is invading my thread! :void:

I don't think it's fair to lay blame on Keynesian economics anymore than it would be to blame deregulation, since we don't actually practice either one properly. As far as I'm personally concerned, the Government's only responsibility is to keep the banks or the FDIC up and running, the rest can go shit for now. In a perfect world, of course I'd like them stabilize the market then gradually make whatever reforms necessary. Unfortunately, if they don't screw the market up even more now, we'll just go back to the same laissez faire management after. Too bad there's no Word War II or Silicon Valley boom on the horizon to bail us out... hmmm, could be a new angle for McCain: "Vote for me, World War III!" =)

Anyway:

McCain disses Letterman by claiming he needed to rush to washington in order to save the economy, only to immediately appear in an interview with Katie Couric instead.

Speaking of Katie Couric, she interviewed Palin at some point as well. Man does Palin look bad.

Well there goes my bank while the fuckwits in Congress stall, I hope JP Morgan will be nice enough to give me money when I want to use my ATM card tomorrow. I'd also like to thank the dumbshits who withdrew 16.7 billion in the last 10 days.

Wow no more WaMu, well on the bright side that'll mean no more irritating commercials. However, with a lot of people withdrawing all of their money (and not spending it which would boost the economy) from banks they're taking away from the pool of money so there's less for the banks to lend, so they're making the problem worse.

Exactly, I'm already hearing morons telling people to withdraw all their funds even though the FDIC hasn't even been tapped, so if they're dumb enough they can put JP Morgan out of business too.

Yup, its officially time to learn how to shit gold bricks people, and it still wouldn't be as painful as what this recession may endup snowballing into.

McCain flip flopped on his not debating issue and is going to debate: LINK

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a McCain supporter, said the Republican made a "huge mistake" by even discussing canceling the debate.

"You can't just say, 'World, stop for a moment. I'm going to cancel everything,'" Huckabee told reporters Thursday night in Alabama before attending a benefit for the University of Mobile. He said it's more important for voters to hear from the presidential candidates than for them to huddle with fellow senators in Washington.

Okay time to begin a little post debate discussion. First off I'll ask if anyone else noticed how many times McCain cut Barack off, or how many times he brought up Ronald Reagan (hmm, wonder why? :schierke:). Honestly I think Barack won that debate although, he wasn't doing himself any favors by saying, "John is right" over and over again, all though it show that he's willing to be bipartisan when it comes to larger issues which is a good thing, I think the people of america care more about what's right for the country rather than a candidates own pride.

I'm a bit surprised, I thought they'd do it. Funny how the Dem's were for Bush's plan and it took the Republican party to stop it.

Edit: Oh wait, it's back door inflation, again.
