Looks like a by-the-numbers Hollywood adaptation to me. I wouldn't expect great things from this.Johnstantine said:The trailer for Ender's game has been released.
I love the book, so I'm going to give the movie a chance. I'm hoping they at least delve into the evolution of Ender and how he solves all of the problems presented before him.
If not, then this movie is going to blow.

This is how I feel about most adaptations, and it certainly came to mind as I watched this trailer ("Is there something incomplete about the experience of reading the book...?")Johnstantine said:I've always thought of Ender's Game to be unfilmable.

I love anything this whole cast/crew has touched, so I'm thoroughly on board.

Visually stunning, it'll be a shame if this isn't a good movie. Plus it's by the same guy who did Children Of Men.
Neat, I guess? But I'm hoping there's a little more to the movie than what's implied about the premise in the trailer. I enjoyed Children of Men, but boy it really didn't live up to its potential.IncantatioN said:Gravity - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ufsrgE0BYf0

I saw this and it made me abit sad. Reminded me of every other Sci Fi space movie which is really disappointing because of how amazing Orson Scott Cards books are.Johnstantine said:The trailer for Ender's game has been released.

Hope so too because that's a lot of screen time, unless it's tackled well. So much can go wrong so fast. Beginning act would be them getting to space I assume. I wish I didn't hear the last thing said in the trailer cos it implies Bullock being left alone, somewhere. I think it's a good thing, that sort of doubt I mean, where a 2ish min trailer doesn't give away the entire movie.Walter said:Neat, I guess? Johnstantine said:I was going to post this yesterday, but then I realized it was Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Clooney I can deal with, but not Bullock.
Angelina Jolie was originally cast but dropped out later. Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts, Natalie Portman, Marion Cotillard, Abbie Cornish, Carey Mulligan, Sienna Miller, Scarlett Johansson, Blake Lively, Rebecca Hall and Olivia Wilde were all subsequently tested or approached for the lead role. Finally, Sandra Bullock was cast.
Warner Bros. acquired the project, which in February 2010 attracted the attention of Angelina Jolie, who had rejected a sequel to Wanted.[2] Later in the month, she passed on the project,[3] partially because the studio did not want to pay her $20 million fee,[4] which she had received for her latest two movies, $19 million for the Tourist[5] and over $20 million for Salt,[6] and because she wanted to work on directing her Bosnian war film, In the Land of Blood and Honey.[7] In March, Robert Downey Jr. entered talks to be cast in the male lead role.[8]
In mid-2010, Marion Cotillard tested for the female lead role. By August 2010, Scarlett Johansson and Blake Lively were in the running for the role.[4] In September, Cuarón received approval from Warner Bros. to offer the role without a screen test to Natalie Portman, who was being praised for her recently released film Black Swan.[9] Portman passed on the project due to scheduling conflicts, and Warner Bros. then approached Sandra Bullock for the role.[7] In November 2010, Downey left the project to star in How to Talk to Girls, a project in development with Shawn Levy attached to direct.[10] In the following December, with Bullock signed for the lead role, George Clooney replaced Downey in the role.
I just found it funny that it seems like Sandra Bullock was among their last choices for the role.IncantatioN said:Could go either way.

Premise is neat, but the movie looks like it could be pretty boring to me.IncantatioN said:The Wall - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=xCL9LwLqM8c
