Maybe cos the script needed someone young to play the part?

Well, I'm no Marvel fan, but I'll be damned if the Avengers doesn't look awesome.

Tom Hiddleston continues to impress me. Here's his article for The Guardian - http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/filmblog/2012/apr/19/avengers-assemble-tom-hiddleston-superhero

I'll go watch this, good or bad.

Lawless - new trailer came out a few hours ago ... Oldman, Pierce, Hardy, Chastian directed by Hilcoat (The Road)

Apparently James Franco wasn't kidding when he decided to make every Cormac McCarthy book into a film, and so he is starting with Child of God: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1951095/
And he's actually already in Post-production. :isidro:

Part of the summery on the back of the book:
Child of God is a taut, chilling novel that plumbs the depths of human degradation. Falsely accused of rape, Lester Ballard -- a violent, dispossessed man who haunts the hill country of East Tennessee -- is released from jail and allowed to roam at will, preying on the population with his strange lusts.

I certainly hope Franco can pull this movie off, because it is going to be tough sell to the general public due to: (not spoiler: violence)
1) plenty of child/women/mentally handicapped killing going on; 2) Just how episodic the book is, you don't have a straight continuous narrative in the book until about the 3rd act; 3) the abundance of racism from the town folk. 4) Necrophilia.
Hopefully Franco does a good job with Child of God, it's my favorite of the 3 important McCarthy books (Blood Meridian, Child of God, and Suttree).

That's like the third or fourth time this movie's been posted :troll:

Killing annoying American archetypes is enough for a flash sketch, but it doesn't look like enough plot for a movie.

While I despise the media for blasting this drivel every place we look, the people who actively hate these icons aren't accomplishing much. People who click links and post about frivolous celebrities only contribute to their inflated presence.

Aside from hyped beyond any reconciliation films such as The Dark Knight Rises, Prometheus & The Hobbit. The movies I'm looking forward to mostly are...

Frankenweenie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cqI6hPra7c

Badass
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_Wd6XtSmWI

Expendables II
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ip_CYHdyUBs

and a couple of others in the months to follow that I am gearing up for this year.

Some interesting stuff I read last night about the movie - http://www.thewrap.com/movies/column-post/master-paul-thomas-anderson-reaches-out-scientologist-tom-cruise-exclusive-41111

I hope Paul doesn't compromise on what he wants to show.
